MRI Results...In medical terms

I talked to my doctor today and she will be consulting with a neurosurgeon to find out what they think may be some options for me. We'll find out if PT can or can't help my situation, if a steroid shot will help and/or if I'm a candidate for surgery.

Comparing my 2008 and 2011 MRI's, not much has changed. Fortunately, nothing has gotten worse. Unfortunately, these episodes continue to occur and do not seem like they will heal on their own.

In medical terms, here is what my chart states:

  1. Mild diffuse disk bulge at T10-11 without evidence of cord compression or spinal canal stenosis.
  2. Prominent right paracentral disk extrusion at the L5-S1 level causing deformity of the thecal sac and compression of the axilla of the right L5 nerve root, with a resultant borderline central spinal canal stenosis. Appearance has not changed significantly since the previous outside study from 07/2008.
  3. Central disk protrusion or extrusion at the L5-S1 level, without evidence of cord compression or spinal canal narrowing.
