Yesterday, Tuesday, August 11th, we had our 39 week doctor's appointment with our Perinatology team at Kaiser Santa Clara.
Mom and baby are doing well. Unfortunately, my cervix hasn't progressed at all and is completely closed. There's still a slight chance I may go into labor on my own, but the chance is low, but again, you just never know.
With this most recent information, the doctor decided to schedule an induction before my due date. We picked Friday as there was an available appointment at 1:30pm. At this time, we are scheduled for an induction on Friday, August 14th at 1:30pm as long as Labor & Delivery is not full. If it is, we'll be rescheduled to most likely Sunday. We'll have to wait and see.
There are different methods that are used to induce labor, and which one is used depends upon how ready my cervix is for labor. We'll cross that bridge when we get to the hospital and I'm checked.
Once I'm induced, labor can start quickly or take a couple days. Depending on what procedure is chosen, we may be able to go home or we'll be in the hospital until the baby arrives.
With that said, if we are in fact induced on Friday, our little girl may be with us anytime between Friday to Monday!!!!!
