The contractions have started!...

We checked into Santa Clara Kaiser at 2:30pm today. The nurses got us all situated and we talked several times with the Doctor to determine the best course of action.

At around 6:20PM they administered the first dose of mesoprostal (sp?) in order to help the cervix soften. Mary Lou then had to lay down for an hour to allow the medication to start working. At about 35 minutes into it, the baby had a slight negative reaction to the medication so the nursing staff is continuing to monitor both mom and baby at this point.

Right now we are just waiting to see if it was just a one time reaction or continuing in order to determine the next course of action.

The contractions have started but they are very mild right now.
