Adalyn is now a month old (5 weeks tomorrow) and is right on track for her weight. I guess she's actually a little ahead. She's definitely a good eater. She typically eats 3-4 ounces at each feeding, but for the last couple of nights before bed, she's eaten anywhere from 5-9 ounces. Just when we think she's done, she's asking for more. In the last 26 days, she's averaged about 1.2 ounces a day (normal is 1 ounce a day). This morning at her appointment, she weighed in at 9 lbs., 3.1 ounces!!! Before the appointment, Jared's guess was 9 lbs., 5 ounces and my guess was 8 lbs., 8 ounces. I guess he was closer than me!
As I watch her grow every day, its amazing to see how quickly she changes. I think back to August 15th and realize that she doesn't look much like the little girl that was born that night. Her cheeks have filled out, her hair has lightened up a bit, her eyes still continue to baffle me on the color, her then slim arms and legs are now a little bit chunkier, her fingers and toes continue to grow and her love for sleep is still very strong. She's a good sleeper, eater and pooper
The tummy/gas issues she had earlier are a lot better. She's not straining as much to get it out of her system. My mom brought us this herbal oil called "Aceite de Manzanilla" where about a drop of it is massaged on her tummy around her belly button, but not on it. We can't say for certain that's what it is, but it has certainly gotten better since we started applying it after each diaper change.
Well, that's it for now....just wanted to share a bit about how much she's grown these last few weeks.
